Andrew Gartshore

Andrew joined aAIM in 2007. He is responsible for originating, executing and implementing aAIM’s global acquisitions and disposals. Prior to this role, from 2004 to 2007, he was a senior Vice President in Citigroup’s Real Estate Private Equity arm (“CPI”), which has approximately US$12bn of assets under management (leveraged). Andrew was responsible for origination and execution of transactions in CPI’s opportunity, core plus and Islamic investment funds in the UK and Europe.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Andrew was a transaction leader in Bechtel Enterprises Structured Finance and Principal Investment Group (“BEn”). BEn is the merchant banking arm of Bechtel Group and specialises in the following areas: financial engineering and advisory services, equity investment, venture formation, ownership and asset management, technology ventures and investment and fund management. BEn has invested over US$8bn in equity and arranged over US$20bn in financing across a variety of infrastructure assets over the previous 10 years. Prior to BEn, Andrew worked with Macquarie / MIP Merchant Banking in Sydney, Australia focusing on principle real estate investment opportunities within Australasia and the United States.

Andrew has extensive acquisition experience including over €1.2 billion of direct real estate investments, the “first of a kind” £2.5 billion London Underground Public Private Partnership (Tubelines), leading the subsequent capital markets securitised refinancing, structuring and marketing of a US$500m infrastructure fund and the structuring and marketing of €750m real estate investment fund.

Andrew received BSc (Mathematics) and a B.E (Structural Engineering) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and an M.B.A from the London Business School.
